My teen finally got the diagnosis. But now what?

A diagnosis changes the conversation.

Suddenly there are new terms. New recommendations. New worries about high school and what the next few years might look like.

You are trying to stay steady for your teen.

But this is uncharted territory. Nobody hands you a map when the diagnosis arrives. How could you possibly know what to do next?

If you are feeling that mix of concern and responsibility, this programme was designed for that exact moment.

Over 90 days, we work together so you understand the system, know what to ask for, and feel grounded leading the process at school and at home.

You might be here because...

You wake up already thinking about school.

Your teen says things like:

“I’m stupid.”

“I don’t want to go.”

“I’m scared about high school.”

A psycho-educational assessment arrived, but it feels like pages of terminology without a clear path forward.

Meetings feel rushed. You remember the questions later, when you are replaying everything in your head.

You are worried that high school could quietly chip away at their confidence.

At home, you are walking on eggshells. The frustration builds on both sides because you love your teen but you do not always understand what they need. And they cannot always tell you.

Outwardly, you are holding it together. Inside, you are trying not to spiral.

You do not want to overreact. You do not want to miss something important. You just want to make thoughtful decisions.

This 90-Day Advocacy Programme is for you if

  • You are receiving reports of challenges in school that are not overcome with typical strategies

  • Your teen has recently been diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, LD, anxiety, or executive function challenges

  • You are navigating the transition from Grade 8 to Grade 9

  • Meetings leave you feeling dismissed or unsure

  • You want a proactive plan rather than reacting to problems

  • You want your teen included in the process, not talked about

This is not about fighting schools.

It is about understanding how the system works and participating in it with clarity and intention.

I have spent more than 25 years working inside that system. I understand how decisions are made, where communication tends to break down, and how families can participate as informed partners rather than feeling like outsiders.

What happens over 90 days

Families usually begin this programme feeling overloaded.

So we slow it down.

First: Understanding

We begin by reviewing the assessment together and translating it into practical school language.

You will understand:

  • what the diagnosis means in a classroom setting

  • your teen’s strengths and pressure points

  • what support is reasonable to expect

  • where clarity is missing

When things become clearer, the urgency softens.

Not because everything is solved.

Because you can finally see the landscape.

Then: Strategy

Once you understand the terrain, we build a plan.

We refine IEP goals where needed.

We prepare specific questions for meetings.

We create a transition plan for high school.

We talk through how to involve your teen appropriately so they feel part of the process rather than overwhelmed by it.

You are no longer reacting to each development.

You are making decisions deliberately.

Finally: Confidence in Action

If helpful, I attend a school meeting with you.

We refine communication so conversations feel steady rather than tense.

We also look at what is happening at home, because advocacy does not stop at the school door.

By this stage, meetings feel different.

You understand what is being discussed.

You recognise when something needs clarification.

You are not second-guessing yourself afterward.

What you receive

This is personalised, high-touch support. It is not a pre-recorded course.

What changes by the end

Parents often describe two shifts.

First, they stop replaying meetings late at night.

Second, their teen feels the difference.

Conversations at school become clearer.

Goals are more specific.

There is less scrambling and more direction.

At home, things shift too. The eggshells feeling starts to lift. When you understand your teen's profile, what drains them, what helps them regulate, what they actually need from you, the frustration loop breaks. You stop guessing. They stop shutting down.

This work is not just about accommodations.

It is about protecting your teen’s confidence during a critical season.

Why work with me

I am not a lawyer preparing families for conflict.

I am not a tutor focused only on academics.

Most parents arrive here having done everything right and still feeling lost. That is not a reflection of how much you care. It is a reflection of how genuinely complex this territory is.

I have spent more than 25 years inside education designing inclusive strategies, supporting neurodivergent learners, and guiding families through complex transitions.

I understand how school decisions are made.

I understand how language in reports translates into action, and where it often falls short.

My role is to help you advocate in a way that is informed, steady, and collaborative.

Working together

This 90-day programme is a focused partnership for families who want steady, ongoing support during a pivotal time.

My role is to provide focused, practical support exactly where you need it.

Services are offered hourly or by project, depending on your situation.

Investment

$3,500 CAD

Payment plans are available.

The application is simply a way for me to understand your situation before we speak. There is no obligation.

Spot is limited so I can remain responsive to each family I work with.

Before you book

Most families reach a point where they realise they do not want to keep navigating this alone.

High school is approaching.

A meeting did not sit right.

Or there is a growing sense that stronger support is needed now, not later.

If that sounds familiar, this may be the right next step.

You do not need to have everything organised before applying. You simply need to be ready to understand what is happening and begin moving forward with intention.

Need more personalized support?

If you'd like guidance specific to your teen's IEP, school situation, or transition plan, I work with families one-on-one.
